Important Conference Dates

Registration:  $25 per delegate by  March 14, 2017

Position Paper Due:    Midnight, March 15, 2017  (Optional)

 

 

Position Papers (Optional)

Position Papers are optional. If you select to submit a position paper,  it will be due at midnight on March 15, 2017.  Delegates should email their position papers in a pdf or Microsoft Word format using the submit position paper button located under the corresponding committees. Please include your committee name, delegation name, and committee position.

 

Position papers that are submitted by midnight, March 15, 2017 will be graded and research awards given out.  Position Papers are not required to be considered for a delegate award.

Technology Policy

The use of technology is encouraged in all committees; therefore, laptops and tablets will be permitted.  However, at the discretion of the each committee chair, the use of technology may be banned or restricted if deemed distracting, counterproductive or misused. 

Delegation Attendance Policy

 

All unpaid Delegation fees are due on the day of the event.  A tremendous amount of work and expense goes into hosting a conference, including lunch, reserving school facilities, and other expenses, are made well in advance.  When a school registers for the conference, we expect the school to attend in good faith.  We understand that occasionally unforeseen circumstance prevent some delegates from attending and therefore we have formulated the following policy to be fair to all participants involved. 

 

If a school needs to cancel its entire delegation, it must do so before the committee assignments are given out.  This year's date to cancel your entire delegation is February 24, 2017.  

 

More common is for schools to have revisions in the total number of delegates attending the conference.  As the conference date nears, some students find themselves with conflicting schedules, mostly sport related.  We understand and can relate to those circumstances, as we have occasionally experienced similar scheduling conflicts with our own delegates.  It is greatly appreciated when advance notice is provided to NPHS MUN of those revise delegation numbers, however it necessary to have a cutoff date as to when changes to the delegation numbers for this conference will be accepted.  This year's date is at noon, March 3, 2017.  After March 3rd, we ask that each school pays their delegation fees based on the delegation numbers last reported prior to March 3rd deadline, rather than the number that actually end up attending on the day of the conference. 

 

We want to apologized in advanced and ask for your understanding regarding this policy, but this assures that the conference will be successful and that all delegations are treated equally.

 

Committee Assignments

Committee Assignments will only be assigned if NPHS MUN has received your delegation payment.  Committee requests will be filled in the order the delegation fees  are received.  The earlier your delegation fees are received, the higher probability your school delegates will have to receive their requests.   Payments should be received by no later than February 24, 2017.
